Today I found this kitten in a parking lot at a local paint store (for the past 5 days I have been painting a room at my parent’s house and needed more paint. I will have to post about my painting adventure soon). Anyway. Nobody seemed to know where the kitten was from. It didn’t have a collar and there were no homes nearby.
It was very friendly and too cute to leave behind so we cut holes in a box and I took it to my parent’s house. A couple of hours later my Dad took the kitten to a local animal clinic and had it scanned for a chip. They weren’t able to find one so we don’t know who the owner is. We also found out that it’s a girl kitten.
I called Joey and told him I had found a new friend. He said that he wouldn’t mind having a cat but mentioned it would cost us money (extra money in rent to keep the cat, cat food, vet bills, etc.). I agreed and said that we could try and find it a home.
After work Joey came to my parent’s house and met the cat…I think it’s too late to find it another home. We are starting to get attached. Anyway. I need to post a sign near the paint store saying I found the kitten. In the meantime we’ll see how she does in our apartment.

Last night I had the opportunity to attend a fundraiser dinner for the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) of Salt Lake. For 21 years the PRC has been a source of hope, truth and help for over 16,000 clients unprepared for pregnancy.
I had a wonderful time at this event and learned a lot. They had two guest speakers share their stories about abortion and the long lasting effect it has had on their lives. It was heartbreaking to hear their stories but so great to hear how the PRC has helped them deal with their pain and suffering and share with them God’s wonderful grace.
The PRC recently purchased a new building which happens to be next to Planned Parenthood and God is working in a mighty way. For those of you who don’t know:
Planned Parenthood health centers offer high-quality sexual and reproductive health care, including family planning, gynecological care, STI/STD testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, and abortion services.
The PRC now has walk-ins. They are not sure if people get confused and think they are going into Planned Parenthood but praise God! They are also looking at getting an ultrasound machine. Research has shown that 86% (I am not completely sure of the percent) of women contemplating abortion who see their unborn baby via ultrasound change their mind.
Overall, it was great to hear how God is working through the PRC and now it is time for me to prayerfully consider how I can financially support this ministry.
